Today the Marine Corp celebrates and reflect back on 239 years of service on land and at sea! They celebrated their annual Birthday Ball Friday with a message from the Commandant followed by the traditional cake-cutting ceremony. Once the cake is cut, there is the traditional passing of the cake from the youngest Marine present to the oldest to symbolize the passing of history and traditions to the next generation. It also looks like our gallant marines and their guests enjoyed a tasty menu too. Yummy!
